Viticulture or grape cultivated is a specialty of the Mediterranean region. Best quality wines in the world with distinctive flavors are produce from high quality grapes in various countries of this region. Irrigation can permit a second  crop to be grown on some land during the summer. On drier land goats and sheep are pastured. The advantage of the Mediterranean agricultural is that more valuable crops such as fruits and vegetables are grown in winter when there is a great demd in Europe and North America!!!!
