LIAQUAT ALI KHAN WAS BORN ON 1ST OCTOBER (1895),AND DIED ON 16 OCTOBER (1951), HE WAS THE RIGHT HAND MAN OF QUAID E AZAM MOHAMMAD ALI JINNAH DURING THE CRUCIAL YEARS OF THE MUSLIM STRUGGLE FOR THE CREATION OF PAKISTAN IN 1947 HE BECAME THE FIRST PRIME MINISTER OF THE MUSLIM HOMELAND FOR WHICH HE HAD WORKED SO HAD A GREAT STATES MAN WITH ADEEP COMPASSION FOR HUMAN SUFFERING AND A FINE ORATOR OF SINCERLY AND ELOQUENCE . HE STEERED WITH THE COUNTRY WITH IMENSE ABILITY TROUGH IS EARLY YEARS PF TRIAL AND TRIBULATION.EDUCATED AT THE MUSLIM UNIVERSITY ALIGARH THE UNIVERSITY OF OXFORD AND THE INNER TEMPLE. LONDON HE PRACTICED LAW IN INDIA BEFORE DEDICATING HIMSELF COMPLETELY TO THE MUSLIM CAUSE.AS HONORARY GENERAL SECRETARY OF ALL INDIA MUSLIM LEAGUE HIE WORKED TIRELESSLY AND SELFLESSLY MORE THAN A DECADE BEFORE INDEPENDENCE. PAKISTAN HAS THE MODERN WORLD IS THE TEXT OF A SPEECH HE DELIVERED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE CONFERMENT OF AN HONORARY DEGREE UPON HIMSELF BY TUE UNIVERSITY OF KANSA. IT OIS ONE OF A SERIES OF SPEECHES THAT JE MADE DURING HIS VISIT TO THE UNITED STATES IN 1950. SPEECHES WHICH CONSTITUTE AN ADMIRAL EXPOSITION OF HOW PAKISTAN WAS BORN AND HOW SHE HAD FARED DURING THE FIRST DIFFICULT YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE .IN THE FOLLOWING YEAR ON 16 OCTOBER 'SHAHEED-i-MILLAT'' TO GIVE HIM THE NAME BY WHICH HE IS REMEMHERED AND VENERATED WAS ASSASSINATED BY A FANATIC AT A PUBLIC MEETING IN RAWALPINDI . THIS SPEECH WITH ITS WISDOM ITS WISFOM AND DIGNITY TESTIFIES A ELOQUENTLY TO THE NATION'S LOSS.

IN FIRST PLACE I AM CONSICOUS OF THE FACT THAT YOU HAVE BEEN KIND ENOUGH TO SELECT ME AS THE RECIPIENT OF YOUR RECOGNITION IN ORDER TO DO HONOUR YO MY COUNTRY RATHER THAN TO REWARD ME FOR MY INADEQUATE MERITS.IT IS FIITING THERE FORE THAT IN EXPRESSING GRATITUDEFOR YOUR GENEROSITY MY COUNTRY MORE THAN MY SELF SHOULD SPEAK TO YOU ON THIS OCCASION.
